Salton Sea: Work Has Begun

Clandestine as it may be, work being performed to help the Salton Sea has been discovered. The Salton Sea is receding more rapidly than many projected. The water transfer between the Imperial Irrigation District and the San Diego Water Authority has escalated to more than 200 thousand acre feet this year… doubling the original 100 thousand per year provided since the 2003 Quantification Settlement agreement (QSA) was signed.
The California Natural Resources Agency has started progress to help the Salton Sea with what they have named the Salton Sea Management program (SSMP) as part of that program to improve conditions with air quality and habitat they have started a Species Conservation Habitat (SCH).
